Composed by Swami Dayananda Saraswati
Raagam: Revati
Taalam: Adi

bho shambho shiva shambho svayambho

Shambho (the benevolent one), Shiva (the auspicious one), and Svayambho (the self-existent one).

gangAdhara shankara karuNAkara mAmava bhava sAgara tArakA (bho)

Shiva, the bearer of the sacred Ganga in his locks, the compassionate one, the savior who helps devotees cross the ocean of worldly existence.

nirguNa parabrahmasvarUpA gamAgama bhUta prapancha rahitA
nija guNanihita nitAnta anantA Ananda atishaya akshayalinga (bho)

Shiva is the formless supreme reality, beyond the cycles of birth and death, untouched by worldly illusions. He is eternal, infinite, blissful, and exists as the imperishable Linga, symbolizing his cosmic presence.

dhimita dhimita dhimi dhimi kiTa kiTatom tom tom tarikiTa tarikiTa kiTa tom

Syllables from Shiva's cosmic dance

matanga munivara vandita IshA sarva digambara veshtita veshA
nitya niranjana nitya naTeshA IshA sabeshA sarveshA (bho)

Shiva is worshiped by great sages, the lord of all directions, and the one who wears the sky as his garment (digambara).  He is eternally pure, the lord of dance, the supreme ruler of all beings.
