The name "Rama" is equivalent to thousand names of Vishnu and therefore it is good chant this "Rama" mantra every day even if it is not possible to recite the entire Vishnu Sahasranamam.
.............................श्रीराम राम रामेति रमे रामे मनोरमे
सहस्रनाम तत्तुल्यं राम नाम वरानने
shrii rAma rAma rAmeti rame rAme manorame
sahasranAma tattulyam rAma nAma varAnane
ஸ்ரீ ராம ராம ராமேதி ரமே ராமே மனோரமே
ஸஹஸ்ர நாம தத்துல்யம் ராம நாம வரானனே
I think this mantra is missing some part, it should be
ReplyDelete"Ram Rameti Rameti, Rame Raame Mano Rame,
Sahasranama Tatulyam Rama Nama Varanane"
Sri rAma rAma rAmeti, rame rAme manorame,
DeleteSahasranAma Tathulyam RAme nAma varAnane
Namaskaram Annu ji,
ReplyDeleteI think what you have said is what has been posted too. I'm not sure which part is missing.
Hari Aum,
Nandini
No this is the correct mantra as written in ram raksha stotra
ReplyDeleteThis mantra seems to be correct.
ReplyDeleteSanskrit version is correct, in Tamil version ரமேதி
ReplyDeleteshould be ராமேதி
Thank you for pointing that out :)
DeleteHari Aum!
what is the benefit of chanting this mantra?
ReplyDeleteIt is equal to chanting the 1000 names of the Lord Vishnu(Vishnu Sahasranamam)
ReplyDeleteWhen Goddess Parvati asks God Shiva the easiest way of chanting the Vishnu sahasranamam,(parvati uvacha.. keno paye laguna...) Ishwarji says this mantra.
Rama said three times is equal to 10^3. ra(2)and ma(5). 2*5=10*3 fold 10*10*10=1000
If due to constrainst one is not able to chant the Vishu Sahasranaman, they you can say Sri rama ramethi.
Hope I'm correct.
Namaskaram. Yes, this comes in the last part of Vishnusahasranamam. Thank you so much for providing this explanation.
