ராமநாம மகிமை

நன்மையையும் செல்வமும் நாளும் நல்குமே

தீமையும் பாவமும் சிதைந்து தேயுமே

ஜன்மமும் மரணமும் இன்றித் தீருமே

இம்மையே "ராம" என்ற இரண்டு எழுத்தினால்

nanmaiyum selvamum nAlum nalgume
theemaiyum pAvamum sidhaindhu theyume
janmamum maraNamum indri theerume
immaiye "rama" endra iraNdu ezhuththinaal

Meaning: By uttering the two lettered word 'Rama', goodness and wealth will accrue to us, evil and sins will shatter and fade (i.e., our bodily identification will begin to drop away), births and deaths will be gotten rid of (i.e., it will grant us mukti).
